Stunning Victorian silver trinket box, rectangular in shape with a hinge to the back opening to reveal a beautifully gilded interior. There are pretty embossed floral & scroll designs to the lid and sides, with a plain, polished silver base. In the centre of the lid is a blank cartouche. When opened, there are clear hallmarks on the inside base for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark: 1897, along with the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver and the maker's mark for A & J Zimmerman Ltd. Partial marks also visible on the inside of the lid.
