A very rare Scottish provincial silver ladle.  This ladle bears the hallmarks for Greenock including urn, sailing ship and thistle and letter 'G' , along with the maker's mark: NN.  (The Greenock Assay Office was hallmarking until 1936 when it was then moved to Edinburgh or Glasgow for hallmarking).  This dates the ladle 1800 -1836.

The ladle is a plain polished silver the only engraving being initials to the top of the ladle terminal 'WM'.
