An elegantly proportioned solid silver trinket box. The body is a plain polished silver and stands on four plain feet. The lid is decorated with a striped engine turned pattern and has a vacant oval cartouche in the centre. It opens and closes perfectly and when opened reveals a beige velvet interior.
Clear hallmarks are visible on the underneath for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1919 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker's mark is also visible for the silver maker: Henry Williamson Ltd, with partial marks visible on the lip of the lid.
A very lovely trinket box, in great condition and nicely sized, sturdy on its feet. The are a couple of very small shallow impressions to one end of the box, and one on the lid, only visible in certain lights. Mentioned only for absolute accuracy.
