A superb art deco solid silver compact.  This circular  compact is decorated with an engine turned pattern to both sides and the front bears an enamel burgee for the Royal Motor Yacht Club on the lid.  When opened the compact reveals a circular mirror in lovely condition with no tarnishing or marks.  The hallmarks are also visible to the inside for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1947 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver, the maker's mark can also be seen for John William Barrett.  

The original powder cover is also enclosed in the interior of the compact and is in great vintage condition.

 A lovely item in great vintage condition, it opens and closes perfectly.
