A lovely glass, rectangular shaped scent / cologne bottle.  The glass is decorated with graduating vertical lines.  The top is silver with the most gorgeous design of guilloche blue enamel applied in a sunburst wavy pattern creating a 3d effect - an optical illusion of movement.  (This cannot be captured by the photographs.)  The lid is threaded and screws on neatly to the silver rimmed top  (also threaded) and a neat original stopper fits in perfectly.

Both the outside of the silver lid and the inside silver rim bear hallmarks for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1939 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver.  The maker's mark is also clear for the renowned silversmiths: Walker & Hall.

An exceptional scent bottle.
