A beautiful Victorian engraved silver scent bottle with Chester hallmarks. Cylindrical in form, the surface is finely engraved in a pattern of leaves with swirls and scrolls. The smooth silver lid top also has an attractive engraved border and the base of the perfume bottles is in plain polished silver.
The lid hinges open to reveal the scent bottle with its glass liner, silver collar and a nicely shaped glass stopper which fits beautifully. The interior of the lid has a lightly gilded finish, adding a luxurious touch to this super quality scent or perfume bottle.
A really beautiful Victorian item which can still be put to good use today and carried in a handbag for a special night out. This scent bottle would make a wonderful gift.
Hallmarked to the base and lid by the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1899 and makers mark G Watts & Co.
Condition: the silver and the glass stopper are in super condition and the lid hinges perfectly and fits snugly.
