A lovely heavy gauge silver Butter Knife.  This early Victorian knife is very nicely engraved with a delicate pattern to the front of the blade and handle with a small initial 'S' to the top of the handle.  The back is fully and clearly hallmarked for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1840, Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver and the silversmith's mark:  G R Collis & Co.

An elegant Butter Knife, would grace any dining table!
