Fine pair of early silver Sugar Tongs made by the renowned lady silversmith Hester Bateman.  The tongs are decorated with a neat cartouche either side with small initials engraved within 'GD' and also at the top.  The maker's mark for Hester Bateman is visible to the inside of the tongs circa 1776 - 88.

A lovely pair of Sugar Tongs made by a very special and collectable maker.
