A  beautiful solid silver and tortoiseshell Trinket Box.   Modelled in a lovely oval shape, the box stands on four pretty feet. Wonderfully designed  this box is sterling silver. The lid is a lovely tortoiseshell with what can only be described as featuring the most exquisite silver pique decoration inlaid, displaying  a silver basket with ribbons and bows with flowers.    The lid is hinged on the back and opens and closes perfectly.  When open, the ivory coloured velvet interior is revealed.  The base of the box is covered in the original  material .

The clear hallmarks are also visible on the base frame for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1907 and Lion Passant, along with the makers mark for the renowned silversmiths:   Levi & Salaman. Partial marks can also be seen on the  front of the lid.

An exceptionally pretty Trinket box and lovely antique collector's condition.  (There are some minor dings on one side commensurate with the age of this item and mentioned for accuracy only).
