An exceptionally stunning English sterling silver Tea Caddy.  The outline shape is a simple and beautiful oval with fluted decoration to the bottom half of the body and the same fluted pattern to the hinged lid, (Which opens an closes with perfection.)  The handle for opening is a lovely finial in the form of a flame.  The tea Caddy sits on a nice flat base. When opened the gorgeous gilt finish interior is visible  to the inside and underneath the lid.   Hallmarks are visible on the front of the Caddy for the Chester Assay Office with a date mark for 1911 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver.  The maker's marks for the silversmith: Barker brothers is also visible.  There are also partial hallmarks on the underside of the lid.

A delightful tea caddy in wonderful antique collector's condition. (There is a tiny pin prick ding to the right of the hallmarks, this does not detract in any way from this item and is mentioned for accuracy only.)
