A most attractive early solid silver sugar sifter spoon,  lovely proportions and in super antique collector's condition.  This Victorian Sifter is a nice plain polished silver in the fiddle pattern with attractive piercings  to the bowl (see images).  Very clear and distinctive hallmarks can be seen on the back of the spoon terminal for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1848 and Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver along with the silver maker's marks:  Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater

This is an exceptional Sifter spoon, good heavy gauge of silver and nice to hold in the hand.
