A vintage 'Falls of Inversnaid, Loch Lomond' mauchline ware sliding double stamp box. Made of wood, the black and white landscape is transfer printed and the box varnished. The interior drawer is of light unvarnished wood with a divider for two different classes of stamp.
Made in Scotland in Victorian times for the souvenir market, these wooden items or treen generally depicted local scenes and are widely collected. This is a very charming example.
Condition: in good antique condition, with a smoothly sliding drawer. The surface has a few dints to the wooden surface, seen to left of the print. They are relatively minor and mentioned only for accuracy.
