A superior,  Victorian, heavy cut glass and silver topped Dressing Table Jar/ Bottle.   The glass is cut in the hobnail design around the body and also on the base. The silver top, has a very light gilt wash, enhancing the appearance, it fits nicely and is beautifully embossed with gorgeous swirl design and a pretty engraving in the centre, and underneath is a lovely lemony yellow gilt finish.   Hallmarks are visible on the lid for the London Assay Office and silver maker's mark for the renowned silversmith:  Charles Asprey & Charles Asprey Junior. (There is no date mark visible.)

A lovely bottle and a good heavy weight in great antique condition with no chips to the cut glass.  The cartouche in the centre of the silver lid has some very tiny surface dents which is commensurate with age and is mentioned for accuracy only.

Hallmarks:  London by Charles Asprey & Charles Asprey Junior.
