A particularly fine and beautifully formed, 24 cm (9.5 inch) diameter, solid silver salver/ card Tray. This salver is of the finest quality workmanship. It's wavy circular form with gadrooned border is particularly attractive. It has no engravings or embossing and is a lovely plain polished silver. It stands solidly and sturdy on three very attractive hoof feet . Hallmarks, along with the Lion Passant (indicating sterling silver) can be clearly seen underneath for the Sheffield Assay office with a date mark 1921, along with the maker’s marks for the renowned silver maker: Mappin & Webb The Maker's mark is also stamped on the base.
An exceptional and stylish salver. The craftmanship and quality is evident of the fine maker Mappin & Webb. Would make a wonderful gift or could be used as a presentation trophy! It is also a great heavy gauge of silver (546 grams).
Condition: In lovely condition. There is one small ding to the surface which we mention for accuracy only, it does not detract from the beauty of the item.
