A rare and handsome silver inkwell decorated with ribbon and pole design and featuring a quill rest to the lid.  When the hinged lid is lifted, the glass ink pot is revealed (this is in great condition with no nibbles to the glass).  Clear hallmarks are visible for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1913 and silver maker's mark:  Herbert Bushell, with partial hallmarks to the underside of the lid. The underneath of the inkwell is covered with red leatherette.

A lovely rare inkwell, very practical for a fountain pen owner.

Condition: Both silver and glass are in great condition.
