A solid silver Vesta Case. This large style Vesta Case is a plain and simple polished silver with an inscription engraved on the front ' DW from HRP 1918'. It is a concave shape with the hinged lid that opens to the right rather than the left and has a good loop on one side for attachment.
When opened clear crisp hallmarks are visible on the inside lip for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark 1909 and maker's marks Horace Woodward & Co Ltd.
A good sturdy heavyweight Vesta. In very good condition (there is some surface scratching to the polished surface and a tiny ding to one corner of the lid, commensurate with age and use).
Hallmarks and maker's marks: Birmingham 1909 by Horace Woodward & Co ltd.
