A very stylish, iconic Art Deco solid silver cigarette case in a lovely convex shape. Decorated with a column of engine turned patterns with a small cartouche in one corner with engraved initials 'AV' . There are two push buttons on one side to enable opening of the case. When opened a lovely gilt finish is revealed and further engraving of initials 'M.E.M 1908 - 1929'. The hallmarks are also clearly visible for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1928 and silver maker's mark: J B Chatterley & Sons Ltd.
A particularly elegant case in lovely condition. The interior elastic straps for holding cigarettes in place are missing.
