An absolutely superb pair of solid silver asparagus tongs.  They are a plain polished silver with wonderful geometric square shape to the tong ends, with a grill design. Fitted with a circular column threaded through, enables the tongs to move up and down in order to grip the asparagus and serve with ease.  Inside the handles are the very clear and distinctive hallmarks for the Sheffield Assay office with a date mark for 1906, along with the Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver and the silver maker's mark for Atkin Brothers.

A lovely heavy guage silver, these tongs are lovely and solid and feel great to hold in the hand. They would grace any dining setting beautifully!
