A superb large George III solid silver Basting / Stuffing Spoon.  This lovely spoon in in super condition.  It has a pretty bright cut decoration to the top of the spoon terminal featuring a vacant cartouch surrounded by ribbon & bow design.  On the back of the spoon are the very clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1791, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the silver maker's mark:  Thomas Oliphant.

Condition:  In lovely condition.

Hallmarks:  London 1791 by Thomas Oliphant.

Measurements:  Length:  29 cm       Weight:  101 grams (great heavy gauge).
