A superb, George V, solid silver tankard. This stunning item is a lovely plain polished silver with no engraving or embossing. It stands on one circular foot and has a handsome handle to one side. The inside has a gilt wash that further enhances the aesthetic appeal. On one side near to the handle are the very clear and crisp hallmarks for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1925 and Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver. The maker's mark is also very clear for the renowned silversmiths: Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company.
A fine tankard and a good heavy gauge of silver would make a perfect gift for a special birthday, although not a small tankard (height: 10.5 cm) it would make a great christening gift!
