A superb and rare, solid silver folding Watch Case.  The style is Art Deco, in rounded edges square form, with an engine turned pattern to both sides. It has a neat push button to enable opening and a hinged lid.    When opened a frame in which to place the watch slides forward.  There is a dinky handle on the top for carrying.  Clear hallmarks are visible on the inside lip of the case for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1936 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver.  The silver maker's mark is visible:  SSM.

A lovely watch case, beautifully designed and in lovely condition.
