A superb, heavy gauge,  solid silver sauce boat in a very distinctive art deco style.  This sauce boat is a truly wonderfully chic design. In a plain polished silver it stands on a rectangular foot. The shape is stylishly art deco and the handle is superb with classic deco form (see images) presenting a wonderful overall sleek appearance. . Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1936 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The maker's marks for renowned silversmith William Neale & Son is also clearly visible.

This is an exceptional item of silver.  It feels good to hold in the hand.  It is also very sturdy and practical.
