Attractive Victorian rosewood Tunbridgeware glove box. This wonderful box is nicely proportioned, in rectangular shape with hinged lid. The decoration to the top is designed with a floral vignette of roses in the centre of the lid with a geometric parquetry design around the edge. The same roses design runs around the sides of the box. The colours are lovely varying rich brown tones. The inside of the box is lined with paper (see images).
This box has the great advantage of having a lock and key, which works perfectly. Would make a lovely trinket or jewellery box or box for private papers etc - great as a gift for any occasion.
Condition: There are a few pieces missing to the right front corner (hardly noticeable unless scrutinized closely, which we mention for accuracy), plus a strip of veneer missing from the base.
