A very fine Georgian sherry label, quite unusual in that it is in silver gilt. The label has an ornate border with swags and shell motifs and the name 'sherry' is pierced into the silver, and it hangs from a belcher link chain. This label has a lovely warm colour from the silver gilt and would look very fine on a Christmas dining table around an antique decanter. It is hallmarked for London 1822. General condition is good, but a left hand bottom leaf raised and slightly detached (see photograph). It is hardly noticeable but mentioned for full disclosure.
