A very fine, Edwardian, solid silver thermometer case decorated with engraved scrolls and swirls. The bottom section also has a blank cartouche. The pull off lid is secured by a sturdy silver chain with a pin that can be attached to clothing.
The base is clearly marked for Birmingham Assay Office and a date mark for 1906. There are also maker's marks but these are rubbed. The lid also bears partial hallmarks, as does the chain and pin.
Condition: This thermometer case is in great antique condition. The lid fits snugly and pin works perfectly.
