A fine matching pair of Victorian solid silver vases. Elegantly fluted, the stem has eight panels which flare gently up towards to the rim. The rim is nicely shaped into four concave petal shaped corners, with decorative leaves decoration and pierced details. This roccoco detailing is repeated at the base of the stem and the circular base is shaped and ribbed. 

Hallmarked as sterling by the Birmingham Assay Office 1897 with makers mark of Henry Matthews (this mark has become worn on one of the pair.

Condition: In very good antique condition. The green baize to each base has been replaced. 

Measurements: Height: 15 cm  Diameter at base: 5.1 cm. Weight of pair: 304 grams
