Vintage 9ct gold enamel Preston shield charm. The design shows the Lamb of St Wilfrith, the patron saint of the city, on a blue enamel background. The letters PP are short for 'Princeps Pacis'  translating to 'Prince of Peace'. The city name is at the bottom of the shield against a black background.

This lovely charm would make a great gift for any Prestonian, or maybe as a lucky charm or pendant for followers of the local football team, Preston North End FC, who also have the lamb as their mascot.

Hallmarked 375 for 8ct gold by the Birmingham Assay Office dated 1960.
