A wonderful and unusual Scottish silver child's spoon. The decorative handle of the spoon is embellished with a child in a crib and the words 'Hush-A-Bye Baby' The back of the spoon bowl bears clear hallmarks for the Glasgow Assay Office with a date mark for 1930 and Lion passant indicating the finest sterling silver. The maker's marks are for the Glasgow silversmiths: J W Tiptaft and Son Ltd
The spoon is a good solid heavy gauge silver would make a perfect New Baby or Christening gift, and more exceptional being Glasgow silver, which is always popular with collectors.
