A wonderful Russian silver tazza - sumptuously decorated with shells, scrolls and leaves.

The bowl and its rim are shaped as six curved segments, with curves and shaping that maximises the reflective quality of the tazza, and there are fancy shell and leaf motifs garlanding the edges. The hexagonal base is similarly segmented and edged with swirling leaves, a leaf curlicue forming a small foot at six points around the base.

Hallmarks:  '84' for the standard Russian silver grade, with the date 1844 and the mark of assay master Dimitry Illyich Tverskoy, active 1834 - 1851.

A highly desirable piece of 19th century Russian silver, this would be a lovely addition to any silver collection

In good antique condition. (Please note due to the ornateness of this piece, any darkness in the photos is due to  reflections and not tarnish).

Measurements: Diameter of rim 9.5 cm   Diameter of base 8 cm  Height: 5 cm Weight 72 grams
