A truly fabulous pair of George III silver asparagus tongs hallmarked London 1792 Thomas Nash II.

These tongs are a good heavy gauge silver and feel nice and sturdy to handle.  They are in plain polished silver with the addition of some classic Georgian styling in the form of a reeded border all around and a simple motif decorating the handle. A beautiful wave pattern providesgrip to the inner edge of the tongs, and the end of the handle is engraved with an heraldic bird.  The tongs are fitted with a central support for tension enabling movement.

Hallmarks: clear hallmarks are visible in inside the handle for the London Assay office with a date mark for 1792, along with the Lion Passant indicating fine sterling silver and the silver maker's mark for Thomas Nash II.

A stunning pair of tongs which make for truly fine dining, and would make a wonderful wedding gift.
