An unusual and charming 'Man in the Moon' solid silver cased Christening set, comprising of a fork and spoon. The matching finials of the set have a moon shaped end and, in an opening within the handle sits the face of the man in the moon, in profile. The rest of the spoon and fork are in simple polished silver.

A wonderful gift for a new baby.

Both fork and spoon bear crisp hallmarks on the back of the handles for the Birmingham Assay Office with the date mark for 1936 and the Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver.  The maker's mark is also clearly visible for Lanson Ltd.

The set is in its original leatherette box, with black velvet interior. This silver is in superb condition; the case is also in good condition, with just some light staining to the satin lining of the lid. The exterior has some light rubbing mentioned only for accuracy and commensurate with age.
